FPMX age group and open class competitors who earn 50 or more points in their skill level are eligible for a top 100 number.  Experts who earned at least 50 points get the lowest group of numbers.  Intermediates second lowest and so on. The last 3 numbers were earned by the top expert class riders earning less than 50 points to fill out the top 99.  Age group and open scores of like skill levels were combined to give a rider a points total.   Two-stroke only, 250F and Bomber points were not used as these classes had few competitors.  The idea of combining age group and open points is to encourage riders to participate in more than one class and reward riders for the added difficulty of racing multiple motos.  The expert open champion is awarded the grand championship.
